Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance
About The Position
Discord is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Corporate Finance team. The Corporate Finance team is central to Discord’s financial operations, handling financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, equity programs, and capital markets activities. This role involves regular collaboration with senior leadership to shape the company's financial future. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance, the analyst will be a key member of a small, high-ownership team with significant growth potential. The position will focus on high-impact workstreams such as managing the financial planning tool, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing financial models, and supporting strategic projects. This role offers autonomy, interaction with business partners, and the opportunity to influence a rapidly growing business.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or high-growth tech FP&A, with heavy financial-modeling ownership.
- Excel mastery, including building financial models from scratch, with attention to model architecture, formula cleanliness, audit trails, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work exceptionally well cross-functionally and with multiple constituents.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nice To Haves
- Deep understanding of valuation and accounting concepts, equity, and stock-based compensation are a plus.
- Experience with FP&A tools and/or programming experience for automating workflows and handling large datasets is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly and long-range forecasting and own reporting for various internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain analyses that inform Discord’s complex, high-stakes strategic initiatives and projects.
- Partner with Total Rewards, Legal, and Accounting on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across equity programs, compensation and more.
- Apply generative-AI and advanced analytics tools to accelerate modeling, improve processes, and streamline reporting.
