Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance
About The Position
Discord is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Corporate Finance team. This team is central to Discord's financial operations, managing financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, equity programs, and capital markets activities. The role involves close collaboration with senior leadership to guide Discord's financial strategy. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of a small, high-ownership team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance, with significant opportunities for growth. This position will handle high-impact workstreams such as owning the financial planning tool, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing financial models, and supporting strategic projects. The role offers autonomy, interaction with business partners, and the chance to influence a rapidly growing business.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or high-growth tech FP&A, with heavy financial-modeling ownership.
- Excel mastery, including building financial models from scratch, understanding model architecture, formula cleanliness, audit trails, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally and with multiple constituents.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nice To Haves
- Deep understanding of valuation and accounting concepts, equity, and stock-based compensation.
- Experience with FP&A tools and/or programming experience for automating workflows and handling large datasets.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly and long-range forecasting and own reporting for various internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain analyses that inform Discord’s complex, high-stakes strategic initiatives and projects.
- Partner with Total Rewards, Legal, and Accounting on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across equity programs, compensation and more.
- Apply generative-AI and advanced analytics tools to accelerate modeling, improve processes, and streamline reporting.
