About The Position

Microsoft Elevate is an industry vertical team focused on bringing AI to social impact organizations and educational institutions. By combining Microsoft’s donation and grant programs, industry solutions, commercial sales resources, and partner ecosystem, the team helps customers advance their missions and expand their impact.

The Senior Finance Manager – Azure GTM will serve as a strategic finance partner to the Microsoft Elevate Azure GTM team. The role translates business and financial performance into actionable insights, helps lead the rhythm of business, and shapes investment decisions that support sustainable growth and customer impact. It involves collaborating with corporate and field teams, influencing business priorities, and developing financial insights and frameworks for a growing organization. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, able to navigate ambiguity, and bring intellectual curiosity, analytical judgment, and structure to complex business questions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field and 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields and 4+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with management and business partners.
• Experience translating financial analysis into meaningful business insights, recommendations, and actions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and similar financial analysis and visualization tools.
• Financial modeling and analytical rigor.
• Strategic partnership and team collaboration.
• Thought leadership and clear communication.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and accountability.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field and 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience; or bachelor’s degree in one of these fields and 8+ years of post-graduate relevant work experience; or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of experience working in a matrix-based organization.
• 1+ year of experience in the technology or software industry.

Responsibilities

• Assess business health through financial modeling and analysis of industry benchmarks, customer patterns, and broader commercial trends.
• Develop and enhance financial models for forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and business investment decisions.
• Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and performance trends, and recommend actions to inform leaders’ decisions.
• Partner with Azure GTM leaders and finance stakeholders to align priorities, evaluate tradeoffs, and advance business goals.
• Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that strengthen execution and accountability.
• Develop insights, performance frameworks, and finance rhythms with key partners across the organization.
• Collaborate with Corporate and Field Finance teams to share insights, strengthen alignment, and scale best practices.
