About The Position

Hitachi High-Tech America, Inc. is seeking a full-time, regular Senior Field Service Engineer in Dallas, TX. This role involves providing field support, including system and equipment maintenance and installations of specific Hitachi brand CD-SEM models CG5000, CG6300, and CG7300 used in semiconductor manufacturing. The engineer will perform on-site installations, provide technical support, conduct resolution and acceptance testing, and perform technology calibration. Responsibilities include attending customer pass-down meetings, ensuring equipment uptime, developing plan-of-action documents for escalations, and working with third-party vendors. A key aspect of the role is transferring technical and operational knowledge to junior Field Service Engineers through training. The engineer will also maintain records in the CRM system and manage service schedules for assigned equipment. Travel is required, approximately 10% of the time, to Hillsboro, OR and Hsinchu, Taiwan for training, and to Boise, ID for customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or the foreign equivalent) in Electronic, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or related.
  • Experience with installing Hitachi's Critical Dimension Scanning Electron Microscope (CD-SEM) models CG5000, CG6300, CG7300.
  • Experience with troubleshooting CD-SEM equipment and performing root cause analysis to resolve system and performance issues.
  • Experience with applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) to maintain CD-SEM process tool performance.
  • Experience with integrating electro-mechanical systems, high-vacuum modules, sensors, controls, lasers, and wafer-handling robotics across multiple CD-SEM tool subsystems.
  • Experience with modeling, design and tuning of PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers.

Responsibilities

  • Train and provide guidance to lower-level Field Service Engineers.
  • Conduct field support, including system and equipment maintenance and installations of specific Hitachi brand CD-SEM models CG5000, CG6300 and CG7300.
  • Perform on-site installation and provide on-site technical support for customers, including resolution and acceptance testing and technology calibration.
  • Attend customer pass-down meetings as required, and ensure equipment uptime and availability commitments are met.
  • Develop and maintain plan-of-action documents to report on escalation activities pertaining to the operation of Hitachi semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Work directly with third-party vendors to install, troubleshoot, and repair system and equipment accessories.
  • Transfer technical and operational knowledge to junior Field Service Engineer positions through on-the-job training or classroom training.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received in the CRM system.
  • Set and keep appropriate schedules for service on assigned equipment.
