About The Position

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Senior Federal Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex workers’ compensation claims, with an emphasis on Defense Base Act and/or Longshore claims. The role applies claims management experience to assess exposure, determine appropriate actions, and resolve claims while meeting client and corporate policies, procedures, statutory and regulatory requirements, and ethical standards. The adjuster communicates with claimants and other parties involved in the claims process, provides empathetic customer service, and documents and communicates claim activity promptly and efficiently. The role partners with clients to develop solutions and improve claims management processes. The position is eligible for fully remote work.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Minimum of 5 years of related claims experience; the overview specifies a minimum of 3–5+ years of federal claims or workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience.
Experience with Defense Base Act and/or Longshore claims.
Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are handled; the overview also states that no adjuster’s license is required.
Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
Computer experience with related claims and business software.
