About The Position

As a Senior Facility Technician, you are an essential member of the Brightline’s Maintenance Team, you will inspect building and rail stock maintenance equipment to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations. You will also perform general preventative maintenance and corrective repair of building, systems, equipment, and grounds. You will utilize skills in plumbing, electrical, painting, heating, and cooling to complete your daily job functions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, some college, technical certification, or vocational training preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in building maintenance, or similar maintenance operations, preferably in railroad, manufacturing, or similar environments.
  • Journeyman Electrical License required or related professional specialist experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in, electrical systems, welding, and overall building maintenance/construction, underscoring a robust technical background.
  • Knowledgeable about electrical general building systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Skilled in operating motorized equipment such as drills.
  • Proficient in construction and maintenance fields, including facility operations, welding and electrical work.
  • Strong focus on safety and attention to detail to consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • Well-versed in safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance operations.
  • Wear personal protective equipment when required and necessary
  • Effective communicator adept at establishing rapport across all organizational levels, fostering productive relationships crucial for operational success.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift or on weekends and holidays based on operational needs as necessary.
  • On-call availability is a necessity.
  • Good physical condition to handle the demands of the job, which may include working in various weather conditions and performing manual tasks.
  • Capable of operating machinery, lift, climb, push, pull and bend for extended periods frequently lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Effective in working with other maintenance technicians and following managerial instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major electrical maintenance tasks, including panel changeouts, new circuit installation, wire pulling, and fixture repair or replacement.
  • Perform troubleshooting for electrical systems, including 3-phase 480/208-volt, 220/110-volt, low voltage, and DC systems.
  • Perform maintenance on various mechanical systems, including air compressors, air dryers, mobile scissor lifts, floor scrubbers, forklifts, train wash, and lavatory service carts.
  • Maintain heavy equipment such as the locomotive drop table, wheel lathe, sand tower, and bridge crane.
  • Daily monitoring and maintenance of the fuel farm.
  • General maintenance of the running repair facility, including painting and general equipment repair.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other technicians to ensure quality work is performed efficiently.
  • Monitor and review all Brightline communication channels, including our company intranet, bConnected, during work hours to ensure all company and department communications and notifications are promptly reviewed.
