About The Position

Horizon is seeking a Facility Technician to join their team. This role involves performing general repairs, troubleshooting building systems, coordinating with vendors, and completing necessary paperwork. The Facility Technician will also be responsible for cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a safe environment. The position requires performing regulatory building audits, managing a preventative maintenance program, and overseeing exterior property conditions. Additional duties may include renovation projects and utilizing a computer-based work order system. The role is in a supportive, team-based work environment with a seamless onboarding experience.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience required.
  • Open to specialties including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, patch work, HVAC, home repairs, etc.
  • Experience in cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems.
  • A clean, valid, NYS driver’s license, three years of driving experience, and reliable transportation to travel locally on a regular basis.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, floor covering, painting, wall repairs and seasonal needs.
  • Troubleshoot all building systems to proactively maintain building operations.
  • Coordinate with vendor and subcontractors.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Take direction from the Property Manager on issues concerning property management and maintenance. Manages productivity and daily job responsibilities.
  • Perform cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems as needed. Ensures that building meets all appropriate compliance.
  • Perform universal precautions and uses personal protective equipment, follows all OSHA, DOH and building regulations.
  • Perform regulatory building audits, inspections, maintains reports and tracking systems to provide a safe and healthy environment for all clients and staff.
  • Manage a preventative maintenance program for building systems.
  • Provide oversight of all exterior property conditions.
  • Additional duties may be required, but are not limited to the following: renovation projects including alterations of walls, carpentry, drywall, electrical, doors, ceilings, plumbing, floor covering and paint.
  • Communicate effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Navigate and utilize computer-based work order system.
