Sr. Events Manager

POPUPFLORIST•New York, NY
•$80,000 - $90,000

About The Position

POPUPFLORIST™ is an experiential floral design and event production company based in New York City, creating brand installations and activations, influencer gifting, pop-ups, and creative workshops. HOUSE OF THREE™ is the company's creative event space in New York's NoMad neighborhood, hosting POPUPFLORIST™ workshops and brand experiences. The Senior Events Manager runs day-to-day event operations, primarily for POPUPFLORIST™ installations, activations, and workshops, as well as events hosted at HOUSE OF THREE™. Reporting to the Founder and managing the Events Coordinator, this role takes events from booking through breakdown, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the company's standards. The Founder sets creative direction; the Senior Events Manager is responsible for bringing it to life through strong operational execution and attention to design and detail. This is an operations and execution role involving management of concurrent projects, event logistics, budgets, vendors, staffing, client relationships, and on-site production. The schedule is not a typical 9-to-5: some early mornings, evenings, and weekends are expected from time to time, particularly during peak periods such as NYFW, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day. Hands-on setup and breakdown in New York City are part of the role.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in event production, experiential production, or floral production.
  • Experience supervising staff or freelance crews across multiple projects at once.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through.
  • Comfort with Google Workspace and project management tools.
  • A strong creative eye and genuine taste for design and detail.
  • Calm, clear communication with clients, vendors, and crews.
  • Flexibility for some early mornings and occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to participate in hands-on event setup and breakdown in New York City.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in floral or floral event production is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Airtable is a plus.
  • Backgrounds in luxury or lifestyle events, set design, prop styling, or visual merchandising will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple events at once, from booking through breakdown.
  • Own production calendars, timelines, and run-of-show documents, with the Events Coordinator keeping them current in Airtable and other operations platforms such as Google Workspace.
  • Handle event logistics, including deliveries, load-in and load-out, venue requirements, certificates of insurance, and permits.
  • Coordinate floral and hard-goods ordering with the Founder.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage vendors and rentals.
  • Run event operations at HOUSE OF THREE™, including readiness, vendor access, walk-throughs, and upkeep of the space; the Events Coordinator handles turnovers and day-of tasks.
  • Ensure client inquiries receive timely, consistent responses.
  • Build and track event budgets and support proposals with accurate production scoping.
  • Review client invoices against final scope and change orders before they are sent.
  • Manage the Events Coordinator by setting priorities and providing day-to-day direction.
  • Own the daily freelance schedule across all events, with the Coordinator handling booking and confirmations; allocate crews, time, and resources across concurrent projects.
  • Serve as on-site lead for each day's highest-priority events and direct staff, freelancers, crews, and vendors through setup, execution, and breakdown.
  • Decide where the Events Coordinator can lead independently.
  • Run readiness checks, address anything that does not meet company standards before the client sees it, and solve problems in real time within the Founder's creative direction.
  • Keep events running smoothly independently when the Founder is away, over time.
  • Own client relationships after an event is booked, alongside the Founder, including scope, timelines, logistics, and changes; the Coordinator handles day-to-day client communication and paperwork.
  • Communicate timelines, logistics, and changes clearly and confidently to clients.
  • Anticipate client needs and provide service appropriate to the brands the company works with.

Benefits

  • Eligible for discretionary bonuses at year-end and after peak seasons, based on company and individual performance.
  • 15 days of paid time off, plus additional paid days off after peak seasons and intensive projects.
  • Health insurance.
