About The Position

Seeking a Senior Estimator with experience in municipal work, higher education, healthcare, public schools, and a variety of other markets. This hybrid/remote position is responsible for preparing concept, budgetary, and final estimate bid proposals, ensuring that budgets, quotes, and proposals are accurate and professionally prepared. The role works with estimating staff and senior company personnel on bid details and participates in pre-construction and construction management meetings with design teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in estimating.
Ability to read engineering and architectural drawings and specifications.
Strong analytical skills.
Outstanding professional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare concept, budgetary, and final estimate bid proposals, ensuring budgets, quotes, and proposals are accurate and professionally prepared.
Consult with estimating staff, the CFO, and Senior VPs regarding bid crew rates, labor multipliers, general and administrative costs, markups, and proposal content.
Participate in assigned pre-construction and construction management meetings with design teams and stakeholders.
Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Read and review bid package documents to ensure company compliance and prepare bids consistent with instructions to bidders, scope narratives, plans, and specifications.
Develop takeoffs; evaluate or develop construction labor rates; and evaluate subcontractor cost estimates and proposals.
Review process designs and engineering specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives where applicable.
Perform conceptual estimating and cost analysis.
