Mortgage Loan Officer - Northern Colorado

About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Officer builds relationships and supports expansion across Boulder, Weld, and Larimer counties. The role works with Wings members and potential members to help identify and secure mortgage loans suited to their financial goals, including home ownership. The officer responds to and follows up on inquiries from multiple sources, collects and analyzes financial information, assesses financing circumstances, and identifies appropriate mortgage products. This includes reviewing competing lender offers and understanding the advantages and disadvantages of different loan products.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of mortgage industry origination or mortgage sales experience.
NMLS registration in good standing.
Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Detailed understanding of FNMA, CHFA, FHA, and VA products and underwriting requirements.
Understanding of nonprofit down-payment programs available to members.
Knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU).
Strong technical experience with PCs, Excel, database software, and web tools.
Strong external sales and networking skills.
Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

At least 5 years of mortgage experience, including at least 2 years in mortgage sales origination.

Responsibilities

Develop external Realtor and business-development relationships and participate in events, shows, seminars, educational activities, and committees.
Take mortgage applications and review initial findings and decisions.
Independently analyze assets, income, and data required by Desktop Underwriter (DU).
Collect data and appraisal fees.
Complete continuing education.
Refer members to other Wings departments, including EIS and CRE.
Remain aware of and comply with Wings policies, procedures, and regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act.
