About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a Senior Environmental Services Technician to support the day-to-day operations of the department. This role involves ensuring staff have necessary equipment and supplies, responding to service requests, assisting with training, performing minor equipment maintenance, covering sick calls, and aiding with quality assurance inspections and project work. The primary goal is to maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, adhering to all relevant standards. The position may involve access to areas where medications are stored and requires attendance at all mandatory trainings to stay updated on developments in the field.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to use computer.
- Prior cleaning experience is helpful.
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the environmental services department.
- Ensure staff have the equipment and supplies needed for their daily assignments.
- Respond to service requests.
- Assist with training.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Help cover sick calls.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections and project work.
- Maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner in accordance with current Federal, State, local, and facility standards.
- Attend all required trainings for position and those designated by the department.
- If assigned to AORN terminal cleaning of invasive procedure room, complete yearly certifications.
- If assigned to pharmacy rooms per 797 standards, complete yearly certification.
