About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking custodians, housekeepers, and janitors to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the environmental services department, ensuring staff have necessary equipment and supplies, responding to service requests, assisting with training, performing minor equipment maintenance, covering sick calls, and aiding with quality assurance inspections and project work. The primary goal is to maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner according to federal, state, local, and facility standards. The role may involve access to areas where medications are stored and the use of internal software applications. Attendance at required trainings is necessary to stay updated on developments in the field.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to use computer.
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Nice To Haves

Prior cleaning experience is helpful.
Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day operation of the environmental services department.
Ensure staff have the equipment and supplies needed for their daily assignments.
