Senior Environmental Services / Housekeeping - FT Evening
About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking Custodians, Housekeepers, and Janitors to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role supports the day-to-day operations of the environmental services department, ensuring staff have necessary equipment and supplies, responding to service requests, assisting with training, performing minor equipment maintenance, covering sick calls, and aiding with quality assurance inspections and project work. The primary goal is to maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner according to current standards. This role may involve access to areas where medications are stored and requires attendance at all required trainings.
Requirements
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to use computer.
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
- Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- If assigned to AORN terminal cleaning of invasive procedure room, yearly certifications will be required.
- If assigned to pharmacy rooms per 797 standards, yearly certification will be required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior cleaning experience is helpful.
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
- Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the environmental services department.
- Ensure staff have the equipment and supplies needed for their daily assignments.
- Respond to service requests.
- Assist with training.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Help cover sick calls.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections and project work.
- Maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner in accordance with current Federal, State, local, and facility standards.
- Attend all required trainings for position and those designated by the department.
