About The Position

Avid Core is seeking a Senior Environmental Outreach Specialist with experience in environmental planning, infrastructure planning, and strategic stakeholder outreach in supporting the federal government. This role will support the environmental planning team in the planning and execution of large infrastructure projects along the southwestern United States border. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience of environmental management experience supporting a Federal Agency
  • Experience supporting environmental planning documentation and requirements (National Environmental Policy Act, section 7 Endangered Species Act, section 106 National Historic Preservation Act, etc.) is required
  • Experience reviewing environmental and cultural survey documentation and providing quality review, insight, and strategy on the next steps is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel is a must
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) desired.
  • Power BI tools is a plus.
  • Experience with large infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Top Secret/Secret clearance desired

Responsibilities

  • Support the environmental planning team in the planning and execution of large infrastructure projects along the southwestern United States border.
  • Develop outreach material, such as talking points, presentations, memorandums, letters, website postings, and briefings.
  • Review project technical requirements and provide input on potential environmental sensitive resources and the strategy for federal, state, and local government outreach and communication.
  • Review environmental documents, include biological and cultural resource survey documents, and provide technical input and advice on strategy and next actions.
  • Develop and maintain an environmental schedule for multiple large infrastructure projects, to include key milestone dates, deadlines, consultation periods, internal/external review periods, meetings, and events.
  • Review and prepare coordination and/or consultation letters in support of projects along the southwestern border.
  • Schedule and attend meetings and prepare talking points and after-action reports detailing the meeting notes and action items.
  • Maintain a list of tracked action items and assist with the closure of those items.
  • Participate on project execution and construction calls to document environmental and stakeholder coordination actions.
  • Review Geographic Information Systems and provide technical input and strategic approaches to minimize sensitive environmental and cultural resources.
  • Maintain project documentation files and track points of contact, and key activities.
  • Develop weekly and monthly progress reports detailing key project activities.
  • Provide acquisition support as needed including developing scopes of work and cost estimates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
