Senior Enterprise Risk Manager

LTSENew York, NY
$155,000 - $195,000Remote

About The Position

LTSE is looking for an Enterprise Risk Manager who brings both rigor and practical judgment to complex business and regulatory questions. In this role, you will help shape and operate an enterprise risk management program that supports sound decisions, responsible growth, and the resilience of the exchange. This is an opportunity for an experienced risk professional who wants meaningful ownership - not simply maintaining a framework, but working directly with leaders and teams across the company to surface risk early, challenge assumptions thoughtfully, and turn analysis into action. You will lead significant ERM work, advise cross-functional partners, and help make risk management a useful part of how LTSE operates.

Requirements

  • Deep working knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks, methods, and tools, with the judgment to adapt them to complex business and regulatory questions.
  • Experience independently planning and leading complex risk work, establishing an effective approach, coordinating contributors, and knowing when an issue needs to be escalated.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to synthesize complexity into clear, practical recommendations.
  • The confidence and credibility to ask thoughtful questions, constructively challenge assumptions, and influence stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make risk information useful to technical, business, executive, and governance audiences.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in enterprise, operational, compliance, technology, financial, or a related area of risk management—ideally within financial services, a regulated organization, an exchange, broker-dealer, fintech, or market infrastructure environment.
  • Deep understanding of market structure, trading mechanisms, regulatory requirements, internal controls, audit, or governance processes.
  • At least 6-8 years of directly related or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with risk reporting, data visualization, or workflow automation tools.
  • A relevant professional certification, such as FRM, CRMP, RIMS-CRMP, CISA, or a comparable credential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead significant components of LTSE's enterprise risk management program, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, governance, documentation, and reporting.
  • Plan and facilitate enterprise and functional risk assessments, bringing together quantitative and qualitative information to identify priorities and recommend action.
  • Own the quality and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise risk register, including risk ratings, controls, mitigation plans, accountable owners, and progress updates.
  • Monitor key risk indicators, incidents, control issues, audit findings, regulatory developments, market trends, and emerging risks—and ensure material concerns are surfaced promptly.
  • Partner with colleagues across trading, compliance, legal, finance, technology, operations, marketing, and other functions to embed effective risk practices into decisions and day-to-day work.
  • Develop and improve risk policies, procedures, frameworks, standards, and tools so they remain practical, current, and responsive to LTSE's evolving needs.
  • Design and lead scenario analyses, stress tests, control evaluations, and other complex risk reviews, selecting the right approach for each question.
  • Prepare clear risk reporting and recommendations for senior leaders and governance forums, and support materials for the Audit Committee, regulators, and external auditors.
  • Lead assigned workstreams for regulatory examinations, internal and external audits, and other assurance activities—from coordinating responses through driving follow-up actions.
  • Serve as a trusted risk advisor on cross-functional projects, business changes, and new initiatives, helping teams balance opportunity, regulatory expectations, and LTSE's risk appetite.
  • Own LTSE’s third-party vendor management review process, and seek out smarter ways to work by improving or automating risk processes, data collection, reporting, and controls.
