Your Impact We build and ship products for law enforcement and the communities they serve on a national and global scale. You will be leading the development of the next generation flagship consumer TASER — the Nitro/Markham line — a mix of proven T10 technology and brand-new technology, and the first true stand-alone consumer TASER that isn't just a re-skin of a law enforcement device. You will work with some of the best and brightest engineering teams to develop cutting-edge products from start to finish while balancing complex tradeoffs. You will need to be agile, adaptive, and creative to find the best solutions for the most critical products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in program management in hardware development.
  • 5+ years of experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Delivered a hardware product with software as part of it; proven schedule and budget creation/tracking.
  • Experience and strong understanding of basic engineering principles and development.
  • Understand and communicate complex technical/engineering issues.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies, and program issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize.
  • A problem-solving mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Since this role sits in the CEW pillar, the candidate must be able to qualify for an export control license.

Responsibilities

  • Must be capable to manage a program with 4-5 distinct workstreams that must all converge to the launch schedule
  • Drive the successful product development of the Nitro/Markham line, managing cross-functional teams to ensure development is on time, on budget, at cost, and reliable.
  • Lead program reviews and updates to senior management and executive teams.
  • Engage with Product Management to frame product trade-offs and find the best solution for Axon.
  • Network and develop relationships across Axon, our suppliers, and manufacturing partners — including our contract manufacturing partner.
  • Own your program budget and schedule end-to-end to ensure we deliver the best possible product that meets our customers' needs.
  • Be a driving force from early concept phases through launch, serving as a key stakeholder in all decisions.
  • Work with a diverse technical team spanning electrical, mechanical, and industrial design, software, firmware, and manufacturing.
  • Travel to the contract manufacturer and/or other vendors will be required, depending on the build schedules for preparation and/or development build management, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as strategic process development and reporting.
