About The Position

The Senior Engineering Manager position has responsibility for more than one Specialization within their group and will provide leadership to the Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering teams in a petro chemical manufacturing environment. Hands on experience in the petro chemical industry is absolutely essential. A Senior Manager position typically manages a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team leaders. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a regular basis. Knowledge of PSM, environmental regulations, and other such industry related experiences are required. Experience with process simulation software, such as ASPEN, would be a plus!

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; 8+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years management or leadership experience
• Or Master’s degree; 6+ years of relevant experience including 4-5 years management or leadership experience
• Hands on experience in the petro chemical industry is absolutely essential.
• Knowledge of PSM, environmental regulations, and other such industry related experiences are required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with process simulation software, such as ASPEN, would be a plus!

Responsibilities

• Develops and ensures adoption of short to mid-term strategy/results and execution of functional strategy for the operational direction of the department
• Oversees continuous improvement/automation implementation activities
• Leverages institutional knowledge for strategy development
• Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports/teams
• Other duties as assigned
