About The Position

VSCO is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of server, web, and full-stack engineers. This team will focus on building a business management platform tailored for professional photographers. The platform will offer tools for client management, scheduling, invoicing, and workflow automation to help photographers streamline and grow their businesses. The role involves leading and growing engineers through hiring, coaching, and development, structuring the team for optimal impact, and fostering career advancement. The manager will also stay hands-on technically, reviewing code, contributing directly, and maintaining a deep understanding of the team's systems and their integration with the broader VSCO platform. This includes guiding architectural direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. The position requires owning outcomes end-to-end, defining and refining roadmaps with the team and cross-functional partners, breaking down work, setting success metrics, and holding the team accountable. A key aspect of the role is removing obstacles for the team and cross-functional partners by escalating issues, adjusting scope, or facilitating difficult conversations. Collaboration with product, design, data science, and other engineering teams is essential to navigate ambiguity, design shared primitives, and shape a unified product vision.
