About The Position

The Boeing Company, Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Special Projects Dallas (SPD) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers. This team is responsible for structural design, production engineering, production improvements, shipside support, and affordability in Berkley, MO. The position reports to the SPD Chief Program Engineer. The role provides engineering support to the AAS Special Mission Pod production contract and the SPD sustainment subcontract. It ensures the team possesses the necessary skills, tools, processes, and resources to execute Statement of Work tasks. Collaboration with Production Operations, Quality, Supplier-Management, Business, and Program-Management teams is key. Developing and maintaining outstanding relationships with external customers is essential, as is building and sustaining a high-performing team. The manager will develop plans, support proposals, and execute major cost reduction initiatives. Rapid response to emerging technical needs in the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) pod production factory and in the fleet is imperative. Excellent communication skills are required to ensure external customers and executive leadership are well informed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects, transactions, or initiatives.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for these positions.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.
  • 5+ years of experience managing development programs from requirements definition through design, qualification, fielding, and support.

Responsibilities
