About The Position

DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead their Fintech Platform team. This team is responsible for the ledger that supports multiple distinct fintech products, integrating with banking partners and lenders, and scaling the fintech platform to meet growing demand. The role involves demonstrating pride, ownership, and accountability for team outcomes, fostering open communication about what's working and what's not, building feedback loops, guiding the team through speed vs. quality tradeoffs, and actively cultivating a culture where individuals can do their best work and grow in their careers. The technology stack is built on Go (golang) powered by AWS infrastructure, utilizing tools like Temporal, Postgres, LLMs, and Grafana.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of combined experience in Software Engineering.
  • At least 3 years as a technical people manager.
  • Experience working with payments systems.
  • Experience building and operating complex systems of record that cannot tolerate missing data.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and data systems (e.g. AWS, S3, Aurora Postgres).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with double-entry accounting.

  • Experience with banking integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Fintech Platform team, responsible for the ledger supporting multiple fintech products.
  • Integrate with banking partners and lenders.
  • Scale the fintech platform to meet growing demand.
  • Demonstrate and foster pride, ownership, and accountability for team outcomes.
  • Share opinions openly on product, tech stack, and team processes, and create a safe environment for the team to do the same.
  • Build feedback loops into team processes, coaching engineers to seek input early and often.
  • Guide the team through speed vs. quality tradeoffs, making the reasoning explicit.
  • Actively foster a culture where every person can do their best work and grow toward the next step in their careers.
