About The Position

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Process Technology team within its Battery Materials business. The role is based at the Billerica Technical Center in Massachusetts and is eligible for the current hybrid working arrangement: remote on Monday and Friday, and in the office Tuesday through Thursday. The Senior Engineer leads complex engineering programs that improve process capability, enable product development, support scale-up, and strengthen manufacturing readiness for battery materials. The role applies engineering expertise to process and product-development challenges and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to deliver technical and business outcomes. Cabot’s Battery Materials portfolio includes conductive carbons, carbon nanotubes, carbon nanostructures, conductive carbon dispersions, fumed metal oxides, and aerogel solutions for lithium-ion and other advanced battery systems. The position requires an eligible degree and relevant industrial or applied research experience: a Ph.D. with at least 2 years, a master’s degree with at least 6 years, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years. The role also calls for experience leading engineering projects, designing experiments, applying engineering and statistical methods, and communicating recommendations to diverse audiences. Preferred experience includes particle technologies and related materials-processing fields, as well as process modeling, pilot operations, manufacturing implementation, and work with external partners. The stated pay range is $128,300–$186,100. Cabot offers health benefits beginning on the first day of employment, a 401(k) savings plan, vision and dental coverage, and an annual bonus based on company performance. The company also describes training, coaching, feedback, and team support as part of its approach to employee growth and success.
