Senior Engineer - Reload/Core Design

Vistra•Cleveland, TX

About The Position

The Nuclear Fuel Reload Design Engineer leads the planning, integration, execution, and closeout of reactor-core fuel reload design projects for Comanche Peak. The role coordinates cross-functional engineering, fuel vendor, operations, outage, licensing, and quality-assurance activities to deliver technically sound, schedule-ready, and configuration-controlled reload designs that support safe plant operation. It is accountable for integrated project performance—including scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder alignment—and ensures reload-related analyses, documentation, reviews, and changes comply with approved station processes, licensing bases, and applicable regulatory requirements. The position may be based at Comanche Peak in Glen Rose, Texas (preferred); Davis-Besse in Oak Harbor, Ohio; Perry in Perry, Ohio; Beaver Valley in Shippingport, Pennsylvania; or the Downtown Operations Center in Akron, Ohio. The engineer supports nuclear fuel and core design activities, resolves complex technical issues, integrates work across engineering disciplines and organizations, coordinates internal and external stakeholders, and provides technical guidance to less-experienced engineers. The role also requires compliance with applicable safety policies and promotion of a safe working environment.
