About The Position

Entegris is currently seeking an onsite Senior Engineer, Quality Engineering to join our Technical, Quality Engineering family at our San Luis Obispo, California location. As a Senior Customer Quality Engineer, you will support the gas purification business within the APS Division and play a critical role across multiple semiconductor-related organizations. You will work in a highly dynamic, cross-functional environment, collaborating closely with customers, internal Entegris teams, and supplier partners. This role carries high visibility and impact, requiring strong communication and presentation skills, a calm and assertive presence, and the ability to effectively manage multiple, frequently changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4-6 years of professional work experience in a related engineering discipline ideally in Quality Assurance Engineering
  • Proven, in-depth experience applying root cause analysis techniques and driving effective CAPA implementation through verification
  • Experience with quality tools, methodologies and standards (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, Lean Six Sigma, ISO standards etc.) and statistical quality control (SQC) tools/methods
  • Understanding of quality systems, product lifecycle management, and manufacturing processes
  • Competent Microsoft Office, ERP systems skills (SAP strongly desired) and at least familiarity with data visualization skills (Power BI strongly desired)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and verbal & written communication skills
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
  • Highly self-motivated and proficient in speaking, reading, writing and/or understanding English

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field
  • Certification(s) such as ASQ CQE / CSSBB / CQIA
  • Semiconductor industry work experience in areas of quality, process, equipment or materials
  • Proven work experience in customer-facing quality roles and/or successfully leading customer quality related initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to fix engineering & business problems utilizing 8D problem solving methodology and implement robust corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Champion escalation management efforts, coordinating between stakeholders and applying project management techniques to align company capabilities with customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain quality dashboards/reports and non-conformance tracking systems
  • Be responsible for supporting customer-facing activities like quality reviews, audits, scorecard reviews and ensuring stable product performance through effective customer engagement
  • Be a data-driven, hands-on engineer performing trend analysis of defects that enhance our risk-based thinking culture
  • Support NPI readiness reviews for quality requirements like Control plans, V&Qs and design / process / change FMEAs
  • Support plant initiatives related to audits, safety & continuous improvements, process control systems, metrology/instrumentation, and change management activities especially PCN reporting and approvals
  • Demonstrates willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and site production goals
  • Be a leader in directing and advancing the Entegris Way quality mindset in accordance with defined policies and procedures and influence without direct authority

  • Ability to travel as needed to support training, global operations and customer engagements
