About The Position

Scrunch, a venture-backed startup, is on a mission to bring brands to an AI-first future. As AI search and conversational agents replace traditional web search, Scrunch helps marketing teams rethink how their products and services are discovered and surfaced on AI platforms. This role sits at the center of how Scrunch turns customers into long-term partners. The Senior Engagement Manager will lead onboarding, pilots, and overall activation coordination for enterprise accounts—driving execution, presenting to senior leadership, and building the engagement infrastructure that lets this function scale. This is the first hire in this role, meaning you will create the playbook. The role requires someone who can deliver in a Fortune 500 boardroom, design processes, and bring leadership experience and judgment from day one. Applicants must reside in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, or Utah. If based in New York, the role is Hybrid, with 3x/week in-office expectations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in engagement management, professional services, solutions consulting, or customer onboarding at a SaaS or technology company.
  • Experience running onboarding, pilots, POCs, or proof-of-value engagements end to end.
  • Experience owning customer onboarding and driving platform activation and adoption within enterprise accounts.
  • Comfortable presenting to CMOs, VPs, and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong project management instincts, with the ability to run tight engagements with clear milestones, owners, and escalation paths.
  • Ability to think in systems, default to process, and design for scale.
  • Technically comfortable with SaaS platform configuration, data flow, and credible conversations with technical counterparts.
  • Experience working in modern SaaS platforms, CRMs, and project tools, with the ability to quickly learn new technical concepts.
  • Experience working at a startup or in an environment where defining one's own role and toolset was necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in management consulting, advisory, or professional services (McKinsey, Bain, Deloitte Digital, Accenture, or similar).
  • Knowledge of the marketing technology landscape (SEO, content strategy, digital analytics, or martech platforms).
  • Experience with AI, LLMs, or the emerging AI search/GEO space.
  • Experience building an engagement, onboarding, or professional services function from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, LLMs, and/or the emerging AI search/GEO space, with genuine curiosity about how these systems work.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full engagement lifecycle—from pilot scoping through POC delivery, onboarding, platform activation, and executive business review.
  • Drive engagements to clear outcomes: expansion, renewal, or a candid conversation about fit.
  • Present to C-suite and senior marketing leadership at enterprise brands.
  • Translate AI search visibility data into business outcomes, field tough questions about methodology, and hold your own when the room pushes back.
  • Manage kickoffs, mid-pilot check-ins, QBRs, and board-ready ROI readouts.
  • Drive onboarding and activation, ensuring customers reach value.
  • Train stakeholders, configure the platform for use cases, and ensure active platform usage.
  • Identify and intervene in stalled activations and risks early.
  • Build repeatable engagement frameworks, onboarding playbooks, milestone templates, and escalation paths.
  • Bridge pre-sales and post-sales by working closely with Solutions Engineering, Account Executives, Customer Success, and Product.
  • Feed insights from live engagements back into sales, product development, and positioning.
  • Create supporting content such as kickoff decks, executive summaries, and QBR frameworks.
