About The Position

AWC Water Solutions Ltd. specializes in providing integrated water, wastewater treatment plants and many other specialized industrial packaged solutions. We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions. In our busy industry, we consistently manage a strong and steady backlog of work extending well beyond a year, which ensures a secure and reliable workflow. We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrician to fill a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate must be a team player and have technical experience in industrial electrical and control wiring. The candidate must also have a great attention to detail and the ability to identify and solve potential problems. Requirements

  • Technical experience in industrial electrical and control wiring
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to identify and solve potential problems
  • Electrical Assembly
  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Reading Schematic Drawings
  • Understanding User Manuals
  • Understanding of instrumentation/device wiring and motor controls
  • Knowledge of the applicable sections of the Canadian Electric Code Parts 1 and 2
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Accredited Trade school or equivalent
  • +5 years of relevant experience
  • +2 years as an intermediate electrician or equivalent
  • Red Seal certification

Responsibilities

  • Install equipment as per the general arrangement drawings
  • Install conduit and cable as per electrical schematics
  • Wiring of various types of instrumentation and controls
  • Assemble and wire custom control panels
  • Ensure manufacturers installation instructions and all code requirements are adhered to.
  • Confirm wiring of components as they are completed.
  • Review bill of materials for accuracy and flag any errors immediately.
  • Redline drawings as required during assembly.
  • Review finished assemblies for accuracy.
  • Complete factory acceptance testing for equipment prior to shipping
  • Occasional Site work and associated travel
  • Input weekly timesheets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a high standard of conduct in the shop.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Other assigned duties as required.
