About IPSD Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary: IPSD is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in San Antonio, Texas as a Senior Industrial Electrician for the Industrial Power Systems Division. As an electrician, you will be responsible for safely performing the installation, maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment and building electrical power distribution systems. Requirements

  • Active Journeyman Electrician License or can renew license by date of employment
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting as an electrician
  • Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Experience with electrical diagnostic tools (VOM, Megger, etc.)
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills and ability to work independently
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens controls and applications
  • Active Master Electrician License with industrial and/or commercial experience

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety-first mindset, ensuring a hazard free work environment
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for manufacturing equipment and plant infrastructure per local and National Electric Codes
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of CNC machining centers and other industrial equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
  • Read schematics and blueprints, estimating materials and parts for projects
  • Maintain accurate documentation of labor hours, work orders, and equipment status
  • Take initiative to identify, document, and correct problems related to equipment discrepancies and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate and prioritize work to meet customer needs
  • Work cross-functionally to support production teams and meet operational goals and KPIs
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements
  • Execute daily work assignments directed by the Production Manager
  • Work with limited supervision
  • Perform other assigned duties
