About The Position

ALTEN Technology USA is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop power electronics systems across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through prototyping, validation, and high-volume manufacturing. The role focuses initially on home energy storage systems and includes hands-on work with simulation and physical hardware. The engineer will collaborate with a dedicated, cross-functional team to create innovative products that support the company’s clean-energy mission and work across electrical, mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of experience in power electronics design.
  • Experience with battery management systems, inverters, charge systems, or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience working with PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
  • Strong laboratory skills and working knowledge of power-conversion test and analysis tools and techniques, including oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, sources, and loads in environments with high voltage, high current, and high common-mode and differential-mode noise.
  • Experience working with high voltage, current, and power.
  • Proficiency in prototyping and rework, including conduction and hot-air soldering, paste and flux application, and cleaning.
  • Familiarity with embedded control and programming microcontrollers, PLDs, and similar devices.
  • Analog circuit design experience, including op-amps, stability analysis, and linear and switching power-supply design.
  • Mixed-signal design experience, especially noise analysis and grounding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute experience and creativity to product-level features, design, and vision.
  • Design tester interface boards for IoT devices, power electronic systems, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
  • Bring up and test systems to validate functionality, optimize performance, and evaluate critical characteristics.
  • Develop efficient test and validation mechanisms for individual PCBAs and complete systems, including custom test cards and apparatus.
  • Work with the mechanical engineering team on a bed-of-nails fixture.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware engineering to optimize products.
  • Own the electrical aspects of the system from design through prototype, validation, and manufacturing.
  • Debug and troubleshoot systems down to the component level.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Mentorship and career growth opportunities
