Senior Electrical Engineer

Heapy•Tampa, FL

About The Position

The Senior Electrical Engineer independently performs electrical design engineering assignments using standard techniques. The role may cover a small project or selected segments of a larger project, requiring independent judgment to evaluate and apply design procedures and criteria and make minor design adaptations or modifications. Assignments have clear objectives and require investigation of a limited number of variables. The engineer develops plans, details, calculations, material quantities, and cost estimates; prepares technical specifications and reports; and reviews design documents and vendor submissions. The position also supports field observations and testing, proposal work, and the technical development of colleagues. The work is aligned with HEAPY’s corporate vision, mission, core values, ISO systems, professional standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives. The position normally requires a four-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program and typically 10 or more years of related experience, or equivalent working knowledge, experience, or an advanced engineering degree. The engineer should hold an FE certification and be working toward PE registration, which is expected within the first two years at this position level. The work includes desk-based computer use as well as possible field and jobsite activities in indoor and outdoor conditions. Physical activities may include navigating stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and elevation changes; kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, and bending; and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. Reliable transportation to and from project sites is required.
