About The Position

We are seeking a Medium Voltage Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team and help shape the future of medium-voltage power distribution solutions. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to design, standardize, and optimize medium-voltage switchgear products serving the North American market. The ideal candidate brings experience in medium-voltage electrical products and power distribution systems, with knowledge of protective relays, PLC controls, power monitoring systems, and electrical design tools. You will play a key role in driving engineering excellence, automation initiatives, and product innovation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions for our customers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
3+ years of experience in medium-voltage product engineering, project engineering, or electrical design related to switchgear and power distribution systems.
Experience designing electrical systems, schematics, and control diagrams using CAD-based engineering tools.
Knowledge of protective relays, PLC controls, and electrical power distribution systems.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on schedule.

Nice To Haves

Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, industrial control systems, or power distribution equipment.
Familiarity with Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environments and configurable product design.
Experience with SEE Electrical Expert, JIRA, or similar engineering and project management tools.
Knowledge of Automatic Throwover/Transfer schemes, relay programming, and PLC programming.
Strong project leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead medium-voltage engineering projects from concept through released design deliverables.
Design electrical power distribution systems incorporating protective relays, PLC-based controls, and power monitoring solutions.
Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including: One-line diagrams, Three-line diagrams, Control schematics, Wiring diagrams, Physical layouts.
Support the design and implementation of Automatic Transfer/Throwover schemes, including relay configuration and PLC programming.
Ensure all engineering outputs meet quality, compliance, and performance requirements.
Drive standardization and automation initiatives across the medium-voltage product portfolio.
Develop and enhance configurable design solutions to support quoting, engineering, and manufacturing processes.
Apply Engineer-to-Order (ETO) principles to deliver scalable, efficient design outputs.
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on simplifying engineering and manufacturing processes.
Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Digital, and Marketing teams to support product strategy and optimization initiatives.
Provide technical expertise and support for manufacturing and engineering teams.
Collaborate on issue resolution, prioritization, and continuous improvement projects across multiple stakeholders.
Apply and interpret applicable industry standards and regulations, including ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEC requirements.
Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and customer specifications.
Maintain strong technical knowledge of medium-voltage products and emerging technologies.
