About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Senior Power Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and low-voltage distribution to join its team in Orange, California. The role leads the design and delivery of complex power distribution and facility electrical systems for infrastructure, federal, industrial, commercial, and institutional projects, from planning and conceptual engineering through detailed design, construction, startup, and commissioning. The engineer serves as a technical leader and, where applicable, Engineer of Record, with responsibility for technical quality and expertise in distribution systems, equipment selection, power system studies, and facility electrical infrastructure. The position includes developing distribution architectures, diagrams, equipment specifications, schedules, grounding systems, and protective-device coordination studies. It also involves designing indoor and outdoor electrical systems and performing or overseeing analyses such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordination. The engineer supports project delivery through technical reviews, construction support, commissioning, team mentorship, client coordination, and business development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM.
