Low Voltage Engineer

PPC Partners•Albany, GA

About The Position

MetroPower’s Electrical Systems & Solutions (ESS) division is seeking an entry-level Low Voltage Systems Engineer I to develop a career in low voltage systems engineering, design, and technology integration. The role begins with a structured six-month field training program alongside experienced technicians, project managers, and engineers. During this period, the engineer gains practical experience with installation, programming, testing, commissioning, documentation, construction practices, and the low voltage systems ESS supports. After completing field training, the Engineer I transitions to a primarily engineering-focused role, with field involvement as needed. With technical review and guidance from senior engineering personnel, the engineer develops system designs, engineering and shop drawings, equipment layouts, submittals, as-built documentation, and other technical deliverables for low voltage construction projects. The role also provides technical support to project teams and involves coordination with customers, design professionals, manufacturers, distributors, and field personnel. ESS emphasizes mentorship and professional development so engineers understand both system design and practical installation. Development opportunities may include manufacturer certifications, NICET and BICSI certifications, advanced AutoCAD and Revit training, system design courses, and project management and leadership development. Potential career progression includes Engineer II, Senior Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, or Engineering Management roles.
