About The Position

Engine is seeking a Senior Director, Workforce Transformation to lead the evolution of its workforce in response to AI integration. This role will focus on measuring the impact of AI on productivity, redesigning roles, and developing future-needed skills. The traditional approaches to workforce planning are insufficient for Engine's AI-native operating model, which experiences non-linear growth. This position requires anticipating workforce needs, defining essential skills, and ensuring responsible AI deployment. The role reports to the CPO and collaborates with AI Platform and Applied AI leaders.

Requirements

  • AI-native operator: Uses AI in their own work, understands LLMs, agents, and evaluations, and can apply AI-native rigor to the workforce function.
  • Transformation & operating-model leadership: Experience establishing measurement systems, job architecture, and workforce planning that significantly alter organizational operations.
  • Forward-looking workforce judgment: Ability to anticipate AI's impact on roles, skills, and career pathways and proactively build strategies.
  • Skills-based workforce design: Experience architecting role redesign, career architecture, leveling, and workforce planning for an AI-evolving workforce.
  • Change leadership: Proven ability to drive adoption and influence across functions, particularly with senior leaders.
  • Consultative posture: Ability to act as a partner and challenger to functional leaders.
  • Responsible-AI judgment: Understanding of AI's limits and ability to integrate privacy, fairness, and human oversight into people decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own how Engine measures AI's impact on the workforce, including productivity gains, efficiency shifts, and capacity reallocation across all functions.
  • Surface the enterprise productivity story quarterly, detailing work streamlining, AI-driven compounding gains, and role shifts for the board, ELT, and workforce.
  • Build the data infrastructure for Workforce Transformation to become a predictive function, anticipating future productivity gains.
  • Redesign roles and career pathways as AI absorbs tasks, moving towards a forward-looking job architecture.
  • Own workforce planning as a strategic function, determining hiring, automation, and upskilling strategies.
  • Partner with functional leaders on the workforce implications of AI-driven redesigns.
  • Define the future skills needed for Engine's workforce (technical, judgment-based, AI-fluent) and develop enablement, training, and manager development programs.
  • Lead the shift from role-based to skills-based rewards, career development, and workforce planning.
  • Establish AI fluency as a durable competency across the workforce.
  • Set enterprise policy for AI deployment in people and business decisions, ensuring privacy, fairness, explainability, and human oversight in partnership with Legal, Compliance, and IT.
  • Build risk oversight and controls for rapid AI deployment while mitigating failure modes.
