About The Position

We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as the top executive leader for all Flyttr efforts within the United States. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the driving force behind establishing, scaling, and leading our new US operations. This is a critical leadership role that requires deep expertise in managing large scientific initiatives within the biosecurity, public health, agriculture, or livestock arenas and the ability to build trust, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and support the CEO with strategic advice, guidance or support. You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of our US footprint—from spearheading the development of new offices, R&D outposts, and biotech laboratory facilities, to managing complex scientific technology programs, field trials, and high-level regulatory affairs. As the primary driver of our US presence, you will translate the CEO’s global strategy into technical and commercial execution in the US, build a world-class local team from the ground up, and ensure our operations reflect Flyttr’s values and standards of operational excellence. Flyttr US will operate like a start-up in operational and commercial terms. Candidates should have experience starting programs or commercial operations from scratch or otherwise in growing early-stage efforts into successful operational or commercial scale-up.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of senior management experience with full operational responsibility for a major region, market or product launch, preferably within the biosecurity, pest management, public health or agricultural fields.
  • Deep, proven expertise managing large scientific initiatives in biosecurity, biotechnology, public health, agriculture, or livestock.
  • Demonstrated track record of building complex operations (labs, offices, multidisciplinary teams) from scratch in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
  • A proven team player and leader capable of managing highly matrixed, global organizational structures and commanding the respect of world-class scientists, engineers, and commercial staff.
  • Ability to balance the dynamics, schedules, and requirements of a global business active across multiple continents and time zones.
  • Experience establishing and sustaining trust with a CEO or other principal, providing support, guidance and advice when and as needed.
  • Based in the US and must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the CEO’s vision into actionable US commercial and operational plans and operations, ensuring the the organization meets operational requirements, program timelines and budgets, revenue targets, and regulatory approvals (when needed).
  • Lead, hire, and mentor a multidisciplinary team spanning science, operations, and commercial management. Foster a culture of innovation, urgency, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the site selection, design, and commissioning of new offices and state-of-the-art biotech lab facilities, ensuring operational readiness, biosafety, and workflow efficiency delivered on time and on budget.
  • With a service mindset, work closely with the CEO on special initiatives in relation to the US and Flyttr’s global strategy and operations. Work with other executives to support their global efforts and to ensure full alignment on US operations.
  • Oversee the management of large-scale scientific technology development programs, ensuring that local operations seamlessly integrate with global R&D goals and milestones.
  • Direct the planning and execution of large-scale US field trials for our technologies (hardware, software, biological control solutions), ensuring technical rigor, data integrity, and strict adherence to scientific workflows and best practices.
  • Act as the primary conduit between US operations and global headquarters, ensuring seamless alignment with corporate priorities and international commercial, operational, and scientific teams.
  • Build and sustain high-trust relationships with top-tier stakeholders, including federal agencies, commercial partners, key academic institutions, and community leaders.
  • Drive the US regulatory strategy. Partner with global QA and regulatory teams to navigate complex pathways (e.g., EPA, FDA, USDA), ensuring full compliance, audit readiness, and successful technology approvals.
  • Own risk identification and mitigation across operational, legal, regulatory, and reputational dimensions within the US market.
  • Drive the development of public-facing communications, the editorial calendar, and other initiatives to continue to build trust amongst all stakeholders in the US and globally.
