About The Position

As the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition, you will lead Best Buy's enterprise talent acquisition strategy and help shape the future workforce that powers our growth, innovation and transformation. You'll partner closely with executives, HR leaders and business teams to attract and hire exceptional talent across Digital, Analytics and Technology, corporate, field leadership and executive roles. As a trusted advisor, you will translate business strategy and workforce priorities into forward-looking talent strategies that fuel growth and competitive advantage. You'll lead a high-performing Talent Acquisition function, including recruiting leaders, recruiters, coordinators and external partners. You will be accountable for creating a data-driven, inclusive and candidate-centered recruiting organization that delivers talent with speed, quality and discipline. Success in this role requires executive influence, recruiting expertise and the ability to lead through complexity in a large, matrixed organization. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, workforce planning, executive search or related fields.
  • 8+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition leadership experience, including leading recruiting teams, people leaders and enterprise recruiting strategies.
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with and influencing senior executives, HR leaders and business leaders in a large, complex or matrixed organization.
  • Experience leading recruiting strategy across multiple business functions, including senior-level, leadership or business-critical hiring.
  • Demonstrated experience using recruiting data, market insights and workforce trends to influence business decisions and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Experience leading inclusive hiring practices and building diverse candidate pipelines.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through transformation, ambiguity, competing priorities and high-volume or high-complexity hiring environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field; master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience leading Talent Acquisition in a Fortune 500, large retail, technology, consumer, digital or similarly complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience building or scaling executive hiring, executive search or leadership recruiting functions.
  • Proven success designing and executing enterprise talent acquisition strategies that support business transformation, growth, workforce planning and critical capability development.
  • Strong talent market expertise, including competitive intelligence, talent mapping, passive candidate engagement and emerging recruiting practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading recruiting operations, including process optimization, recruiting technology, AI-enabled tools, ATS platforms, sourcing tools, reporting capabilities, vendor relationships and Talent Acquisition budgets.
  • Strong executive presence, communication, facilitation, negotiation and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex talent insights into business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional partnerships across HR, business leadership, finance, legal, communications and operations, with a results-oriented approach and passion for candidate experience, inclusion, accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Set and lead the enterprise talent acquisition strategy, aligning recruiting priorities with business strategy, workforce planning, transformation goals and critical capability needs.
  • Serve as the senior Talent Acquisition advisor to executives, HR Business Partners and business leaders, providing market insights, competitive intelligence and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting strategy and execution across executive, leadership, Digital, Analytics & Technology, corporate, field leadership and other business-critical hiring.
  • Lead internal and external talent strategies, including executive search, early career programs, internal mobility and proactive talent pipelining for critical capabilities.
  • Partner with business and HR leaders to forecast talent needs, identify capability gaps and develop pipelines for hard-to-fill and senior-level roles.
  • Drive continuous improvement across recruiting operations, technology, AI-enabled tools, vendor partnerships and Talent Acquisition metrics to improve hiring outcomes and business results.
  • Lead an inclusive, high-performing Talent Acquisition organization, strengthening employer brand, candidate experience, accountability, collaboration and professional growth.
