About The Position

Reporting to the Vice Provost for Student Success (VPSS), the Senior Director manages the technical and operational workflows for the division, overseeing project management, data integration, and the cross-functional coordination of student-facing units. This leader will oversee the systems and cross-functional workflows that ensure every Fordham student, across colleges and campus, experiences a seamless, supportive journey from enrollment to graduation. This role ensures that the “integrated ecosystem” of student success units operate as a unified, data-informed operation in support of the student success journey. This person is the project manager for student success initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed. The Senior Director of Student Success Operations & Strategic Initiatives provides the administrative and technical infrastructure necessary to achieve the University’s retention and graduation goals.

Requirements

  • Project manager for student success initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed
  • Provides the administrative and technical infrastructure necessary to achieve the University’s retention and graduation goals
  • Strong foundational knowledge of contemporary student success frameworks, retention data models, and operational tactics used to identify and support “at-risk” student populations.
  • Deep resonance with the Jesuit values, including striving for excellence and continuous improvement in service of the student experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training in Project Management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the daily operations of the VPSS office, ensuring that strategic goals are translated into daily work plans for supervised units.
  • Serves as the primary project manager for high-priority initiatives
  • Develops and maintains a master roadmap of all student success initiatives, ensuring that cross-departmental teams within and related to student success meet deadlines.
  • Designs and executes communication plans to help faculty and staff transition to new technologies or policies.
  • Leads the Student Success Council’s technical and data needs, ensuring deans have the specific metrics required to manage their respective schools.
  • Optimizes the Ram Central platform, serving as the functional lead for student success technology to ensure it meets the needs of both faculty and professional advisors and campus partners.
  • Partners with Information Technology and Institutional Research to design dashboards that track student persistence and equity gaps.
  • Synthesizes complex data sets into actionable presentations or formats for the VPSS and campus stakeholders.
  • Utilize data-informed strategies to identify “at-risk” student populations and deploy operational interventions to improve outcomes.
  • Facilitates regular operational meetings between student success units to ensure policy alignment and shared goals.
  • Audits existing student pathways (from orientation to commencement) to identify and remove administrative barriers to student success.
  • Oversees data collection strategies and frameworks to rigorously evaluate the impact and effectiveness of Student Success initiatives.
  • Manages the operational budget for the VPSS office and develops business cases for future staffing, investments, or technology needs.
  • Drafts annual impact reports that quantify the value of student success initiatives for University leadership and the Board of Trustees.
