About The Position

The Senior Director of Operations serves as Seamark Ranch's senior internal operations leader, helping translate the Executive Director's vision into clear priorities, healthy systems, and consistent execution. This role keeps the Gospel, Seamark's mission, and care for children and families in crisis at the center of internal operations. The Senior Director supervises and supports the Director of Programs, Clinical Director, Ranch Manager, and Compliance & Accreditation Coordinator while coordinating closely with the Director of Finance & Administration. The role provides alignment, accountability, coordination, and structure so residential care, clinical services, ranch-based programming, and community-facing family support ministries work together in partnership with the local church. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Senior Director leads internal execution and organizational alignment while the Executive Director maintains primary responsibility for vision, board leadership, development, major donor relationships, external partnerships, and organizational strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit leadership, business administration, ministry, organizational leadership, social services, operations management, or a related field; equivalent senior leadership experience may be considered.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising leaders, building systems, leading organizational change, and creating accountability across multiple departments.
  • Strong alignment with Seamark Ranch's Christian mission, Statement of Faith, and commitment to serving children and families in crisis.
  • Ability to model Christian leadership and support a Gospel-centered workplace culture.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background screenings, drug testing, and regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading multi-department operations in a nonprofit, ministry, residential care, counseling, education, healthcare, or child welfare setting.
  • Experience with DCF licensing, COA accreditation, FACCCA standards, facilities planning, compliance systems, vendor management, or organizational growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support, coach, and hold accountable the Director of Programs, Clinical Director, Ranch Manager, and Compliance & Accreditation Coordinator.
  • Lead internal planning, execution, and organizational accountability processes.
  • Ensure departmental leaders remain aligned around organizational priorities, mission outcomes, and Seamark's care model.
  • Strengthen organizational systems for communication, decision-making, documentation, risk management, safety, incident follow-up, and cross-department problem-solving.
  • Keep the Gospel, Seamark's Christian identity, and the mission to serve children and families in crisis central in operational decisions, leadership culture, and program execution.
  • Ensure Seamark's residential, clinical, ranch-based, and community-facing services operate in alignment with the organization's mission and support local churches serving children and families in crisis.
  • Support the development of programs and services that strengthen families, promote restoration and reunification, and extend the ministry impact of local churches.
  • Oversee licensing, accreditation, policy implementation, SOP structure, and organizational readiness for DCF, COA, FACCCA, and other applicable standards.
  • Own high-level facilities and capital planning, including long-term maintenance planning, major facility projects, fleet and infrastructure priorities.
  • Coordinate major facility projects and campus improvement initiatives through the Ranch Manager, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Oversee organizational technology systems, outsourced IT services, telecommunications, cybersecurity coordination, software platforms, and technology vendors.
  • Manage relationships with technology providers, including TruTech, AT&T, software vendors, and other operational partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance & Administration and Executive Director to ensure operational priorities, staffing plans, capital projects, compliance requirements, and strategic initiatives are appropriately coordinated, resourced, and executed.
  • Partner with the Executive Director on strategic execution, board preparation, leadership development, and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted second-in-command and operational leader for the organization.
