About The Position

Lead the engineering organization responsible for GitLab Dedicated, GitLab’s premium single-tenant SaaS offering for enterprise customers in regulated industries and the public sector. The role owns the lifecycle of dedicated and cellular platforms, including orchestration, integrations, resilience, incident response, Switchboard APIs, public sector compliance, and enterprise customer migrations. Define strategy for single-tenant and public sector SaaS platforms, drive infrastructure investments, ensure FedRAMP and compliance operational readiness, and build capabilities that enable enterprise customers to transition to and scale on Dedicated. Scale the platform to meet customer growth while providing the full platform capabilities, compliance certifications, and enterprise-grade SLAs in an isolated environment. Lead distributed engineering teams and foster operational excellence, customer focus, and practical AI-enabled workflows. The Dedicated Infrastructure & Platforms organization has five focus areas: Platform Orchestration & Integrations; Core Features, Resilience & Response; Switchboard & Control Plane; Public Sector Platforms & Compliance; and Enterprise Migrations & Import Tooling. The role is remote, with possible location-based eligibility requirements.

Requirements

Experience leading engineering organizations that operate enterprise single- or multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure and cloud platforms at scale.
A track record of measurably improving production reliability, reducing toil, or lowering infrastructure cost on a platform owned.
Deep expertise in cloud-native and cellular architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and modular services that deploy and scale independently across cloud environments.
Experience delivering and operating enterprise offerings under strict compliance regimes such as FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud.
Experience leading organizational changes, including adopting AI-enabled workflows to improve engineering system efficiency.
Ability to translate financial targets into engineering investments, headcount plans, and execution roadmaps.
Leadership approach characterized by ownership, speed with quality, and focus on customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

Own the strategy and roadmap for GitLab Dedicated, ensuring the platform scales with customer growth and converges with GitLab’s cellular architecture.
Partner with Product and executive leadership to deliver growth targets, focusing on platform reliability, faster customer onboarding, infrastructure cost efficiency, and self-service administration.
Lead teams responsible for tenant orchestration and integrations, resilience and incident response, the Switchboard control plane, public sector platforms and compliance, and enterprise migrations and import tooling.
Uphold enterprise-grade SLAs across every tenant.
Deliver GitLab Dedicated for Government, including AWS GovCloud infrastructure, FedRAMP operations and audit readiness, air-gapped isolation, and public sector feature delivery.
Make enterprise migrations to Dedicated predictable, repeatable, and low-disruption through self-service tooling and guided workflows.
Hire, coach, and scale engineering managers across distributed teams.
Bring practical AI-enabled workflows into the organization’s work.
Partner with Product, Security, and Customer Support to align customer commitments, architecture, and investments.
Drive critical infrastructure investments and build a culture of operational excellence while closing business and roadmap gaps.
