About The Position

We Are Social is looking for a Senior Director, Content & Community to lead our Social Strategy, Platform & Culture team. You will take a lead role in defining the social-first creative future of multiple huge global and national brands and help set the industry agenda for what makes great social media. Your mission is to maintain the agency’s position as the best in the business when it comes to social media and social-first creative. You will push innovation in both craft and operations to continue to evolve a high performing team at the vanguard of the industry. You will establish and scale processes that get the best out of your team and others. You will believe in the power of social creativity and know how to unlock it for brands. You will be a good human.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in social strategy roles at progressing seniority.
Living and breathing social and pop culture.
Exceptional presentation skills.
Must be able to prioritize fast and work quickly while maintaining high standards.
Experience and demonstrable interest in mentoring team members and nurturing talent.
Deep knowledge of social platforms and how they can be deployed to reach consumers, build brands and inform innovative creative work.
Comfortable being a thought leader and industry expert in their field and wants to be given internal and external opportunities to develop in this area.
Experience managing successful teams (including process, resourcing, ops oversight)
Curiosity, care and conviction; we want good humans who strive for better work.

Nice To Haves

Traditional agency experience is not required, but it’s a plus.

Responsibilities

Write and oversee inspiring social strategies, channel plans and culture-first content briefs that generate creative ideas worth talking about for campaigns and AWO programs.
Run a team of social and content strategists at mid-senior to junior levels, with a focus on developing talent and identifying the agency’s leaders of tomorrow.
Partner with the Head of Strategy & Innovation to develop the Social Strategy, Platform & Culture team’s vision, market differentiation, growth opportunities and roadmap for success.
Own, reshape and scale the agency’s ‘Newsroom’ product – the engine room of the agency’s day-to-day creative output and our big market differentiator.
See around corners to the next big things in social and culture. Be pioneering, be first to market, take big swings.
Work alongside fellow team leads (Brand Strategy, Insights & Measurement) within Strategy & Innovation department to develop team culture and standards.
Help develop AI-powered agency products and tools that can improve craft output and efficiency and unlock better creative.
Sell to clients with enthusiasm, clarity and conviction across workstreams and pitches.
Work in beautiful symbiosis with brand strategists, creatives, content creators, research specialists, influencer experts and client service teams to win together and forge an agency of collaboration, openness and excellence.
Grow relationships with key senior clients and find areas to push and grow the work.
