About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a strategic operator to help its large, fast-moving global Communications function turn priorities into results. Working across Global Communications, this leader connects strategy to execution by shaping planning, resource allocation, and impact measurement, while ensuring work is delivered. The role is a thought partner to the CCO and senior leaders, helping the function scale and focus on its most important priorities. The Senior Director will translate strategy into plans, milestones, and metrics; own the planning and performance cadence; advise the CCO; support budget and resource decisions; and align Communications teams and enterprise partners. The role will also improve the function’s operating model, processes, tools, and reporting, and lead and develop a small team.

Requirements

  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to turn ambiguity into clear priorities and plans.
  • Track record of running complex cross-functional work and keeping senior stakeholders aligned.
  • Financial fluency, including comfort with budgets, forecasting, and vendor management.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information, and credibility working with executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complexity for senior audiences.
  • Collaborative, low-ego style and ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and pace in a high-visibility environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or an agency environment.
  • Experience at a large, global technology company.
  • Experience building or scaling an operations function or operating model.

  • Own the cadence of planning cycles, OKRs, executive reviews, leadership meetings, and all-team meetings; focus discussions on decisions and ensure follow-through.
  • Anticipate the CCO’s needs, pressure-test thinking, identify risks and opportunities, and help manage the CCO’s priorities alongside the function’s priorities.
  • Partner with the Communications operations team on budget planning, forecasting, and tracking, including agency and vendor spend, and support informed leadership trade-offs.
  • Align with leaders across media, creative engagement, and other Communications teams on priorities, resources, and timelines, and resolve conflicts.
  • Partner with Communications operations and strategy, Finance, People, Legal, and Marketing to avoid duplication, share best practices, and keep the function integrated with company priorities.
