About The Position

The Senior Director Asset Management Services will lead a team of individuals focused on inspection and asset management activities. This position will be responsible to ensure RailPros’ high standards of delivering value to our clients are met. This role focuses on expanding service offerings, driving employee and contractor accountability, and managing key accounts in the freight rail, short line, and industrial rail sectors. As a Senior Director, this role oversees Director level positions communicating objectives, identifying staffing issues, and expanding our services and reach.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to grow practices and lead multi office teams
  • Expertise in construction engineering and management, rail infrastructure, and emergency response
  • Familiarity with federal regulations 49 CFR parts 213, 214, 237, and 243
  • Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and email and other software commonly employed to develop presentations and promotional materials
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential materials and information
  • Strong skills in presenting and delivering new concepts and methods
  • 10+ years of experience in rail industry; preference to field operations
  • Demonstrated success in strategic leadership and client services
  • Professional Engineer (Civil) licensure

Responsibilities

  • Work with Directors to develop and execute strategic plans to grow the inspection, asset management, and construction management service lines in the freight rail sector
  • Secure and manage projects with major clients (e.g., National industrial clients, Class I railroads)
  • Work with the Director of Construction and Contractor Management to establish the parameters to which RailPros will hold accountable the contractors we hire to complete work for our clients
  • Establish standardized safety and documentation protocols to ensure compliance and operational excellence
  • Grow our asset management teams (Track, Bridge, Signal) in the industrial and freight sectors
  • Develop and use relationships within the industry to expand RailPros ’ services and reach within the freight sector
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for inspectors, construction managers, and their leaders
  • Act as a trusted advisor and liaison between executive leadership and client stakeholders
  • Drive technological innovation
  • Represent the company in industry forums and deliver professional education programs
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
