This individual independently plans, performs the moderately-defined responsibility for the development and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories, and research techniques in the design and verification process of digital very large scale integrated (VLSI) circuits. Plans technical projects in the design and development of CAD software. Defines and implements verification methodologies such as modeling of registers and programming components in Portable Stimulus language. Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters. Develops and enhances tools and methodologies to increase design, verification, and validation productivity in simulation and emulation tool chains. Documents and deploys advanced methodologies to streamline processes to improve turnaround time, reducing OpEx and NRE. Develops, validates, and deploys automated next-generation tools and flows to help verify and validate SoCs, subsystem and core IPs. Performs CAD solution debug, and provides feedback and assistance to CAD and design engineers by compiling data into reports and presentations. Prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval. May specify materials, equipment, and supplies required for completion of projects and may evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Interfaces with various cross functional teams (RF, Analog, Digital IC designers, Foundry Process Technology and Modeling, IT, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Operations) and external vendors to drive and incorporate the latest design solutions in the production program to improve cost, operational efficiency, productivity, and time to market. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings.
