About The Position

The Senior Developer will join World Wide Technology’s Internal IT AI Center of Excellence (AI COE), a team focused on AI strategy, platform management, enablement, and foundational generative AI services. The role builds software in an agile environment using web, data, and AI technologies, helping teams solve business problems at scale. The team is working to design and improve a pro-code agentic framework that powers WWT’s Atom AI chatbot and supports broader business use cases, as well as evolving the Atom AI Portal as a central place to discover, access, and launch vetted AI assets. The developer will also partner with product delivery teams and business stakeholders to bring an AI-first approach to solution design.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or a technical-related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience developing distributed or scalable systems.
Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++.
Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Proficiency in developing and consuming APIs.
Thorough understanding of delivering an application from inception to production.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Comfort with receiving feedback and having ideas challenged.
Comfort mentoring other developers.
Experience working with the OpenAI SDK and AI frameworks.
Understanding of AI principles, including LLMs, models, RAG, and agents, and experience integrating AI into solution design.
Experience shipping an AI-driven application to production.
Comfort using coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Claude Code, or Cursor to improve developer efficiency.

Nice To Haves

Experience with AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or Glean.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their AI services.

Responsibilities

Build functional software and deliver technical solutions that exceed stakeholder expectations using web, data, and AI technologies.
Evaluate new AI tools, models, and frameworks and share relevant best practices with WWT.
Promote AI best practices and responsible AI use across engineering and business teams.
Ensure software and solutions scale effectively, are cost-effective, and follow software development best practices.
Provide technical and professional mentoring to team members.
Lead projects and complex assignments with broad or ambiguous scope.
Write maintainable and efficient code.
Work directly with stakeholders to understand functional requirements and needs.
Demonstrate solutions and communicate status to stakeholders at all levels.
Participate in ideation sessions and strategic planning.
Help foster a team-first environment grounded in WWT’s Core Values.
Design, build, and continuously improve the pro-code agentic framework behind WWT’s Atom AI chatbot and its broader business applications.
Build and evolve the Atom AI Portal for discovering, accessing, and launching vetted AI assets.
Partner with product delivery teams and business stakeholders to incorporate an AI-first approach into solutioning.
