About The Position

The IT Senior Developer is a senior level role responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of RPG ILE applications running on an AS/400 platform. Working closely with other developers under the guidance of our IT Director, the purpose of this role is to add on to and/or build out software solutions that manage our daily business operations. Please note this position is on-site.

Requirements

• Associates degree and extensive knowledge of AS/400 (iSeries) platform, including RPG I-IV, RPG Free, ILE, CL, and CLLE
• Experience in application development, complex code development, application testing and component design
• Subfiles and Display files
• SQL and DB2 databases
• Project management
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and convert needs into technical concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
• Highly communicative and interpersonal
• 3+ years of AS400 development experience

Nice To Haves

• Transportation industry experience

Responsibilities

• Designing, coding/developing and performing acceptance testing of all new and existing integrations written on the AS/400 system
• Troubleshooting and resolving system issues, bugs, and other system defects
• Creating technical and user documentation
• Recording and logging asks in a project management software
• Participating in code walkthroughs, testing, and migration
• Efficiently managing projects and tasks that may have overlapping timelines
• Participating in bi-weekly programming meetings to work out specific development plans
