About The Position

The Senior Developer is a senior-level role responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of RPG ILE applications running on an AS/400 platform. Working closely with other developers under the guidance of the IT Director, this role builds and extends software solutions that support daily business operations. The position is on-site.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Extensive knowledge of the AS/400 (iSeries) platform, including RPG I-IV, RPG Free, ILE, CL, and CLLE.
• Experience in application development, complex code development, application testing, and component design.
• Knowledge of subfiles and display files.
• Knowledge of SQL and DB2 databases.
• Project management skills.
• Ability to communicate needs and convert them into technical concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• At least 3 years of AS/400 development experience.

Nice To Haves

• Transportation industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, develop, and acceptance-test new and existing integrations written on the AS/400 system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, bugs, and other system defects.
• Create technical and user documentation.
• Record and log requests in project management software.
• Participate in code walkthroughs, testing, and migration.
• Manage projects and tasks efficiently, including those with overlapping timelines.
• Participate in bi-weekly programming meetings to develop specific plans.
