About The Position

The Senior Developer will drive the design, build, and implementation of complex Pricing Tools that address root business problems and make insurance pricing programs easier, faster, and more reliable to bring to market. The role combines hands-on Python and cloud application development with in-depth learning of the Insurance Pricing domain.

The developer will lead complex projects and coordinate work across team members, partner teams, and stakeholders. They will establish technical standards, promote development best practices, and mentor junior analysts and developers through code reviews and design guidance. The role also involves identifying automation gaps, delivery blockers, technical debt, and opportunities to improve team effectiveness.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of Python experience.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD.
• Linux and bash experience.
• Experience in Agile development.

Nice To Haves

• GitHub Actions experience.
• Experience building user-facing applications with Streamlit or Flask.
• Docker experience.
• Experience developing via EC2 or other cloud compute.
• Experience deploying EKS or Kubernetes applications.
• Insurance Pricing or Compliance experience.
• Experience on a Data Science or Analytics project.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design, build, and implementation of complex Pricing Tools that improve the process of bringing pricing programs to market.
• Learn the Insurance Pricing domain in depth and create tools that address root business problems.
• Improve and automate processes to speed up product deployment and increase reliability.
• Design resilient and sustainable tools using Python, application development, and cloud best practices.
• Lead complex projects and coordinate work across team members, partner teams, and stakeholders.
• Establish and promote technical standards for coding practices, testing strategies, documentation, and maintainability.
• Research and recommend technologies, development practices, and process improvements for current and future Pricing Tool needs.
• Identify automation gaps, delivery blockers, technical debt, and opportunities to improve team effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance to junior analysts and developers, including code reviews and support with complex design or implementation challenges.
