About The Position

Starbucks is seeking a Senior Designer for their Digital UX & Design team. This role focuses on designing and delivering world-class digital experiences across mobile, web, and in-store platforms. The designer will influence how millions of customers interact with Starbucks daily, from ordering drinks to managing loyalty programs. The position requires a hands-on designer who excels in collaboration, balances aesthetics with functionality, and prioritizes accessible, beautiful, and impactful digital experiences. The role involves actively contributing to design projects, working with cross-functional teams, and creating user-friendly digital interfaces.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of customer-facing digital product design experience, ideally at scale with design-driven brands, tech companies, or agencies.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating interaction design, systems thinking, and high-quality visual design.
  • Experience shipping features and experiments in agile, fast-paced environments, including data-informed design decisions.
  • Experience collaborating closely with developers to ensure functional excellence and pixel-perfect execution.
  • Hands-on expertise with modern design tools such as Figma for prototyping, iteration, and collaboration.
  • Awareness of emerging digital design trends, with the ability to thoughtfully apply them in a brand-led environment.
  • Ability to communicate concepts and design rationale clearly—visually, verbally, and in writing.
  • Previously designed for native mobile OS and possess knowledge of platform-specific guidelines.

  • Experience designing for retail, eCommerce, loyalty programs, or mobile ordering platforms.
  • Experience designing with and for AI-powered features.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design innovative features and experiences millions of people engage with every day.
  • Create modern and intuitive UX and UI that scale across platforms by leveraging an end-to end design process that includes concepting, sketching, designing and prototyping.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, data scientists, product owners, creative studio designers and engineers to design, test and deliver major customer features across app and web.
  • Influence Starbuck’s product strategies through strong design explorations and rationale, connecting decisions to customer and business impact.
  • Contribute to design systems, ensuring visual consistency, accessibility, and brand integrity.
  • Contribute feedback and active discussions to elevate the collective quality of the design team’s work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing rapid iteration with thoughtful craft.
