Senior Data Scientist - Generative BI

The Home Depot•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

The Senior Data Scientist - Generative BI drives business profitability and modernized analytics across The Home Depot by configuring, tuning, and scaling generative business intelligence capabilities. The role focuses on practical AI enablement rather than building generative models from scratch: translating user feedback and analytical friction into robust technical solutions. Responsibilities include building and maintaining semantic layers, curating golden SQL query examples to improve context accuracy, establishing automated regression testing pipelines for AI-generated answers, and integrating enterprise data sources into a scalable multi-agent architecture. The position requires solving data quality issues, troubleshooting integration risks, and adapting to changes in platform features, including across the Databricks ecosystem. The role designs and develops analytical algorithms and models for large datasets, communicates insights and recommendations, supports project planning and prioritization, mentors junior colleagues, collaborates with business partners, and develops reusable and documented data science solutions and best practices. It reports to a manager or above and has no direct reports. Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.
