Associate Data Scientist - Generative BI

The Home Depot•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

The Associate Data Scientist - Generative BI drives business profitability and modernized analytics across The Home Depot by configuring, tuning, and scaling generative business intelligence capabilities. The role focuses on practical AI enablement rather than building generative models from scratch: turning user feedback and analytical friction into robust technical solutions. Work includes building and maintaining semantic layers, curating golden SQL query examples to improve context accuracy, establishing automated regression testing pipelines for AI-generated answers, and integrating enterprise data sources into a scalable multi-agent architecture. The position also involves resolving data quality issues, troubleshooting integration risks, and adapting as platform features evolve, using tools in the Databricks ecosystem. The role spends approximately 70% of its time on solution development, 20% communicating results, and 10% technical learning. It supports data science projects and business problem analysis, communicates insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, and keeps skills current with industry trends and emerging methodologies. No travel is required. The position reports to a manager or above and has no direct reports.
