About The Position

At Potloc, data is a pillar of the company's strategic decisions. We leverage large volumes of data from multiple sources (internal tools, SaaS, proprietary application) to power the Finance, Sales, Operations, and Product teams. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will take full ownership of Data Engineering at Potloc. Through this position, you will exercise a high level of autonomy and responsibility over our entire ecosystem: from defining the architecture and technological choices to establishing best practices, managing priorities, and the strategic evolution of our data platform. Our current technical environment (AWS, Google BigQuery, Airflow, Docker, dbt, meltano, and Terraform) is not fixed. We expect someone capable of evolving it, following industry trends, challenging it, and making sustainable decisions in close collaboration with data experts and engineering teams. This position is for someone comfortable in a startup environment, who enjoys working independently while collaborating closely with senior and expert profiles.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or data-oriented Software Engineering, with excellent mastery of SQL and Python
  • Strong experience designing and operating ELT pipelines
  • Deep expertise in data modeling (clear, modular, and business-aligned models)
  • Advanced experience with dbt and modern data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse…)
  • Significant experience in cloud environments (AWS or GCP)
  • Comfortable in low-structure environments, with high autonomy and ownership
  • Ability to make technical decisions and take full responsibility for them
  • Strong product and business mindset, pragmatism, and impact-driven approach
  • Fluent English required; French is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own the Data Engineering architecture and its roadmap
  • Design, build, and maintain reliable and scalable ELT pipelines
  • Modeling data (via dbt or equivalent) to support analytical and operational needs
  • Centralize and expose data in the data warehouse for the entire company
  • Power critical systems through reverse ELT pipelines (CRM, ERP, operational tools)
  • Ensure data quality, freshness, and observability
  • Maintain and evolve the cloud data infrastructure (performance, cost, security)
  • Implement and maintain engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, IaC, monitoring)
  • Be proactive in identifying technical debt and improvement opportunities
