About The Position

Accenture AI & Data is seeking an experienced AI & Data Senior Manager to join their team in Montreal. This role involves leading data consultants, designing and implementing data architectures on cloud platforms, and driving the adoption of data management best practices. The Senior Manager will collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute client data strategies, lead the development of data products, and implement data governance frameworks. The position requires a strong understanding of data quality, security, and compliance, as well as the ability to manage complex data projects from inception to completion. Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in data management, cloud computing, and big data technologies are essential. The role requires regular interaction with English-speaking stakeholders across Canada, the US, and globally.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data solutions, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • A proven track record of architecting and implementing large-scale data solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Scala, as well as experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data services and tools, including data lakes, data pipelines, and real-time data processing.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and grow high-performing teams.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into a clear data strategy.
  • Experience in driving data initiatives that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable business value.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in implementing and enforcing data quality, security, and compliance standards across large datasets.
  • Excellent project and program delivery skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and presenting to senior leadership.
  • A passion for staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in data management, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
  • Eagerness to continuously learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving field.
  • English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience within the consulting industry.
  • Expertise in using Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Pig, Hive technologies, Data Ingestion in Data Lake, Data Storage on key Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), Redshift, Data Retrieval on Big Data platforms and Interfacing Data Science and Data Visualization tools on Big Data platforms.
  • Experience in Data Modeling, Big Data Platforms (e.g. Cloudera, Hortonworks, AWS, Talend, etc.), Data Migration and Quality (using ETL e.g. Informatica IDMC/ IICS), MySQL/NoSQL, CQRS Event Sourcing.
  • A master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on big data or cloud computing.
  • Experience in sectors such as finance, healthcare, retail, or manufacturing, with an understanding of industry-specific data challenges and regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant certifications in solution architecture or data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor a team of data consultants, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement while delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data architectures on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data management, including ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling.
  • Lead diverse delivery teams working with clients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to define and execute the client organization’s data strategy, aligning data initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Lead the development of data products and solutions that provide actionable insights and drive business growth.
  • Implement and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Champion data quality initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the performance of data infrastructure, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and innovation.
  • Lead efforts to modernize legacy systems and integrate new technologies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of complex and large data projects, from planning and resource allocation to execution and post-implementation support.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet Accenture’s highest quality standards.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in data management, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
  • Continuously explore and integrate cutting-edge tools and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
